FFP Distributes Relief Items to Survivors of Hurricane Michael

A general-contracting and -construction company based in Forest Lake, Minnesota, Gaughan has decades of experience in the construction of both commercial and residential properties across the country. FFP is one of the largest international-relief groups in the United States. The Christian nonprofit provides emergency-relief assistance in the United States and in 17 other countries in the Americas. In late 2018, FFP teamed up with other organizations to provide emergency relief to people affected by Hurricane Michael in Florida. 

Hurricane Michael made landfall at Mexico Beach, Florida, on October 10 with winds of up to 155 miles per hour. As it carved out its tragic path, 39 people were killed and millions of dollars’ worth of property was destroyed. The state hardest hit was Florida. 

When the need for emergency-relief services escalated, FFP stepped in. Together with groups such as Matthew 25: Ministries and Gleaming For The World, FFP distributed two tractor trailers full of relief items to recovering families in the Florida Panhandle. The items included food, water, blankets, and personal-hygiene products.

Notable Construction Projects by Gaughan

Established in 1969, Gaughan is a Forest Lake, Minnesota-based general contractor and real estate provider. Gaughan, a family owned-and-operated company, has provided construction services to a number of high-profile projects throughout Minnesota.

The Art and Science Academy in Isanti was a 19,700-square-foot ground up construction project. Gaughan served the education-sector client as a general contractor over the course of a four month project, guided by the school’s board of directors and Carlo Galeazzi, school director.

The Chanticlear Pizza and Grill, on the other hand, involved a number of tenant-improvement services rendered to the restaurant industry client. Despite the comparatively small 4,300-square-foot property, the comprehensive project involved converting a former gas station into a fully functional commercial kitchen, as well as the development of a dining space and installation of a bar. Specific project operations included extensive demolition work, acoustical ceiling installation, framing and carpentry, and much more.

These projects represent only a small fraction of the scope and diversity of the company’s recent construction work. Additional properties include City Center Commons in Forest Lake and Compass Early Learning in Coon Rapids.
